Boot Linux Faster
Friday, September 22, 2006
"This article shows you how to improve the boot speed of your Linux system without compromising usability. Essentially, the technique involves understanding system services and their dependencies, and having them start up in parallel, rather than sequentially, when possible." Check it out!
Note from the Nerd: Not sure if I trust myself to do some of this stuff ^_^ , but the nerd in me is aching to give it a try! I'd love a faster boot time, although my new processor sped up my boot time a GREAT deal, now I have to wait but a minute or so for everything to boot (including KDE). If I can get this down another 15 seconds or so... that would be so 1337.
