World Wind 1.3: Google Earth Watch Out

Tuesday, August 22, 2006

What could be better than Google Earth? How about being able to track real time weather, fires, floods, sandstorms all across the globe by the click of the mouse! Also super maps of Saturn, the Moon, EVEN A DEEP SPACE VIEWER! WOW!!!! Man, NASA has really done it this time... Google Earth is simply blown away by World Wind 1.3. Simply amazing... but you have to try it to believe it I guess! Check it out here.

Note from the Nerd: WHAT??? NO LINUX VERSION???!!!! Come on NASA, you can do better than this... what good is a such a great program running... Windows? Well anyway, this looks absolutely spectacular! If it weren't for the fact that you need the .NET runtime environment and DirectX runtime, I would try installing via WINE... but I guess I am not that far yet. If anybody gets this running under Linux, please let me know!!!
