All Windows are used to it, regularly defragging their hard drive... but why don't Linux users have to? What makes the Linux file system different from the one Windows uses? Well, this article provides a bit of insight into why we Linux users never have to bother ourselves with defragmenting, while Windoze users do it every month (or should...).
